It was a great day weather wise for the 28th running of the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon this past Sunday. After several days of damp rainy conditions, the sun broke through the clouds momentarily for the 8:00am start with temperatures in the low 40s.
HRG was well represented this year with Mike O., Pat H., Michael C., Bryan S., and Victor F. All the HRG runners succesfully navigated and survived the 26.2 mile course affectionately named "the most beautiful urban marathon in the country".
Notable runs were posted by Victor and Mike finishing in strong fashion with Victor crossing the line in just over 3 hours and Mike O. crossing in a strong 3 hours, 35 minutes. Pat H. and Michael C. finished well in just over 4 hours. Bryan's quest for a solid finish was hampered when his left hamstring tightened up at mile 11. Despite continued tightness and related IT band pain, he was able to complete the run in just over 5 hours. Great work to all the HRG runners this year!
This year's run was documented with the following video of our own "Elite" Master Runner Pat H. pressing the lead contingent as the course heads around the east/southeast shore of Lake Harriet before turning east on to Minnehaha Parkway (miles 7 and 8)
