Summer Heat and TC Marathon Fast Approaching

Well the heat and humidity was up this weekend as many runners are starting to log those long runs in preparation for the upcoming Twin Cities Marathon. Water stops were up around the lakes courtesy of Twin Cities Marathon and LifeTime Fitness. The stops were stocked with cold water, ultima drink, GU packs and swedish fish at one of the LifeTime stops. Man are those tasty after 10 miles of hot humid running!!!

HRG was well represented around the lakes this past Saturday. Ray, and Tim M. logged 18 or so miles. I ran into them at Lake Harriet as they were just finishing mile 15. Mike O had started early and had logged a nice 14 or by 7:00am according to Ray.

Keep up the training, hydrate well and slow your pace on those hot and humid days. Remember, the long runs are for endurance not for speed.

See you at the finish line!
