Last night I watched Spirit of the Marathon starring Joan Benoit-Samuelson, Alberto Salazar, Dick Beardsley, Frank Shorter, and Deena Kastor. Its a great documentary about training for the 2005 Chicago Marathon from the perspective of six different runners, including a couple of first timers, repeaters and two elite runners including Deena Kastor.
I was a bit skeptical at first, but the movie really moves along and gives both runners and non runners a perspective into training for the 26.2 mile event. I highly recommend watching it for a nice motivational piece. I enjoyed it and I'm sure you will too.
